As great as a smouldering slow burn is, sometimes we want a love that burns fast and bright. Insta-Love (instalove) or Instant Love romances deliver on that “love at first sight” or initial spark reaction for a romance that is usually about settling in and exploring, versus the journey to get to that pay off. They’re perfect for people who want to revel in the love for as long as possible. However, it’s still a trope with a lot of diversity in story telling. Some stories are sweet and fluffy with little drama, and others use that instant love to explore the hard realities of relationships. 

Not all insta-love romances are also instant-lust, a trope where those spicy feelings and scenes play out on page sooner rather than later. Insta-lust can still include an emotional slow burn, or a hard won relationship battle with plenty of spice along the way.
